Scenery studio project


 
Final outcome of the whole case of the aquarium

For my Studio Practice project one, I have displayed and presented a show case (vintage case) with a set of images of a single well researched location that could refer to my Reflective Practice project. To produce a well thought location, I decided to draw and take photos of some buildings along the seafront of Hastings. Along the way I found some museums and the Bluereef aquarium. I think the Bluereef aquarium would be prefect to display some underwater fantasy creatures instead of having them placed in a museum which would be out of their natural habitat.

I also drew three new fantasy creatures that live underwater after looking and studying the seaflife in the aquarium to get some references. With these creatures and a few extra others I decided to create a mobile inside the case to make the scenery look more 3D and to let the compositions stand out more. The entire scene was based on a tank that you would find in the aquarium, with the background and ocean floor, but to have fantasy creatures instead of creatures that you see everyday underwater.

Fantasy Star Constellations

  This was my last final project that I produced in university before graduating. It is based on imaginative fantasy star constellations from what I see and imagine in the night sky and how it  could be used to bring others into the world of stargazing.   It's a scene of fantasy water creatures rising  to the surface  and flying creatures reaching to the top of the sky. All placed on a MDF board with drilled holes to place some blue and white LED lights from behind to produce the scenery. I also created a small little booklet as a guide to describe the origin and structure of each constellation. The idea out of all of this is to  introduce  children into the world of stargazing and to help develop their imaginations in years to come.

The Journey

In college I had an animation project based on animated videos on You Tube and found some interesting videos of cut out horses. So I thought it would be a good idea to base my video on a theme about horses since horses are quite difficult to draw I thought it would be a real challenge to produce a video about them called the Journey.
