Rolls Royce Brochure

Image
For my next advertising project, I was offered a chance to create a brochure for a Rolls Royce company. Only this time I was to create an "Art Deco" theme picture. To do this I drew the basic lines of the image onto a sheet of paper, scanned it in and then edited the entire colour of the picture onto Photoshop. To represent Eastbourne, my employers wanted me to include the Wish Tower and the AA box within the background and for the Rolls Royce to be placed right at the centre, in such a small amount of space. They even allowed me to take some photos of the Rolls Royce within the scenery, by taking me for a drive in it.

Wedding Invitation

Image
After seeing a few of my still life landscape drawings, I was offered to create an invitation for a wedding. The drawing is of a pub called "The Star Inn" in Alfriston, which is where the venue is being held. After taking a few photos for references and viewing the actual property in person, I was able to project the pub into a visual 2D image. But to prevent the drawing from becoming too basic and out of context, I erased some of the edges away to make it blend in more with the background. I also created a title with an ancient font above, to produce a vintage theme that's not only relating to the drawing, but to the wedding as well. Altogether it's simple and sufficient enough to send a message across to a lot of invited guests for a special day.

CD cover

Image
Due to my latest creations, I was offered to design a CD cover of an eye catching image. I first drew a couple of rough sketches to get the ideal concept of nature. After drawing out the image in fine line pen, I then experimented with the colour and making sure it wasn't too bold in order to bring out more of the image lines of the compositions. When deciding what final outcome to choose from I found out the less amount of colour there was within the background, the more abstract the composition would become.

Fantasy Star Constellations

Image
This was my last final project that I produced in university before graduating. It is based on imaginative fantasy star constellations from what I see and imagine in the night sky and how it  could be used to bring others into the world of stargazing.   It's a scene of fantasy water creatures rising  to the surface  and flying creatures reaching to the top of the sky. All placed on a MDF board with drilled holes to place some blue and white LED lights from behind to produce the scenery. I also created a small little booklet as a guide to describe the origin and structure of each constellation. The idea out of all of this is to  introduce  children into the world of stargazing and to help develop their imaginations in years to come.

3 magazine spreads

Image
For my last studio practice project I created three double page spreads to be published in a magazine. The first one is of a particular way to describe something about myself. So I made a visual image of my own palm hand lines, that shows which line consists of my own life. The second article is about a shop I had to advertise of my own choosing. I chose to illustrate the Bumper Bookshop store, which is a cafĂ© and also book store for children. I thought this way it would give me chance to illustrate and compare a shop with two different purposes. Finally the third spread is of anything that I wanted to illustrate of my own imagination. For that I produced a mixture of owl constellations as a way of creating an inspiration into the minds of others.

Seven Stories Competition

Image
For my second studio practice project I entered a competition for illustrating a double page spread of a children's story book. It's the story about the pig's going to the market, eating roast beef and running all the way home. Only this time its in two different cultural versions of English and Jamaican, showing the different concepts of both cultures on either side. I produced four separate type of drawings in one story each. This way it would make people understand the entire concept of the story visually, without even reading the text. Add caption

Studio Practice project 1

Final outcome of the whole case of the aquarium For my Studio Practice project, I presented a show case (vintage case) with a set of images placed in a single well researched location, that could relate to my Reflective Practice project of fantasy creatures. To produce a well thought location, I decided to take photos of some buildings along the seafront of Hastings. Along the way I came across some shops, museums and the Bluereef aquarium. In the end I thought the Bluereef aquarium would be prefect for a scenery to create my own underwater creatures. Instead of having them placed in a museum, which could take them out of their natural habitat. After looking and studying the sea life in the aquarium and get some photo references, I drew some new fantasy creatures that can live underwater. To make the creatures stand out more and look more 3D within the background I created a mobile inside the case to hang each creature individually and make the mobile look like an octopu
